eSIM No Signal at the Airport? The 5-Step Fix Checklist

Almost every no-signal case at Narita, Haneda or Kansai is a settings switch, not a broken eSIM. Five steps, under two minutes, then a human.

The five-step fix

  1. Airplane mode on, count ten, offForces the phone to pick the network up fresh. Solves the largest share of cases on its own.
  2. Right line selectedSettings, Cellular or SIMs: the kimono eSIM must be ON and set as the Mobile Data line. Your home SIM's data should be off.
  3. Roaming on, for the eSIM line onlyTravel eSIMs connect as roaming lines. Data Roaming ON for the kimono line. This does not bill your home carrier.
  4. Restart the phone onceThirty seconds, and it clears the radio state a toggle cannot.
  5. Check the eSIM is still installedIf you deleted it, a QR installs only once: message us for a replacement, do not rescan.

While you fix it: get on the free Wi-Fi

FreeWiFi-NARITA at Narita, HANEDA-FREE-WIFI at Haneda, FreeWiFi@KANSAI-AIRPORT at Kansai. Connect, then you can message us while you work the card.

If the five steps did not do it

Message the chat on this page or [email protected] with your order number, phone model, terminal and a screenshot of your cellular settings. A faulty eSIM is replaced one for one; an unused plan can be refunded under its package terms.

Save this before you fly

Screenshot the card above or print it with the button under it. A screenshot needs no signal and rides next to your boarding pass.
